Kenopsia Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Kenopsia ("Kenopsia", "the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Kenopsia mobile application. Kenopsia is a device security scanner that reviews device configuration, installed apps, networks, Bluetooth, NFC, local ports, selected files and other indicators to provide findings, recommendations and a security score.

1. Summary

Kenopsia is designed to perform most analysis locally on your device. It does not require an account and does not upload your files, findings or scan contents to a Kenopsia-owned backend. Some features use third-party services, such as Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google AdMob and Google consent tools, which may process technical data under their own policies.

2. Information the app may process

Depending on the permissions you grant and the options you enable, Kenopsia may process the following information locally:

• Device security posture, including relevant configuration, integrity signals, local services and connectivity exposure.
• Nearby or active Wi-Fi information, such as security type, signal strength and whether a network appears open or weak.
• Bluetooth and NFC information, limited to exposure indicators or detected devices where Android allows it.
• Installed app list and technical metadata, such as app name, package name, version, install source, declared permissions, install date and risk signals.
• Information about files inside the folder you select, such as name, extension, apparent file type and local risk signals. Kenopsia does not upload full file contents to its own servers.
• Scan results, findings, security score, recommendations and PDF reports generated locally.
• App preferences, such as scan depth, enabled modules, selected folder, background alerts and ad privacy options.

3. Permissions and why they are requested

• Location: Android requires location permission to access nearby Wi-Fi details. Kenopsia uses it to detect open or weak networks, not to track your location.
• Bluetooth and nearby devices: used to review Bluetooth exposure and detect connections or devices relevant to security.
• Notifications: used for background protection alerts, such as newly installed apps, unsafe networks or relevant Bluetooth events.
• Installed app visibility: used to analyze installed apps, permissions, installation source and recent apps. On Android 11 or later this may require special package visibility capabilities.
• Selected folder access: used only to analyze the folder you choose through Android's system picker. You can change it or skip this access.

4. How we use information

We use information processed by the app to:

• Run security scans and calculate a device security score.
• Display findings, evidence, app permissions, vulnerable networks and recommendations.
• Generate PDF reports that you may save or share voluntarily.
• Provide background alerts about new apps, unsafe networks or Bluetooth events if enabled.
• Remember local preferences and improve the user experience.
• Measure basic usage, stability and errors through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
• Show ads through Google AdMob where applicable and manage ad consent through Google's consent platform.

5. Local AI

Kenopsia may generate recommendations using local AI based on scan findings. This feature is designed to run on the device. Kenopsia does not send scan results to its own backend to generate those recommendations.

6. PDF reports and user actions

PDF reports are generated locally. If you choose to save or share them by email, messaging or another app, further processing depends on the app or service you select. Kenopsia does not control those third parties.

7. Third-party services

Kenopsia may integrate the following third-party services:

• Firebase Analytics: for aggregated usage events, screens and relevant app clicks.
• Firebase Crashlytics: for crash reports, technical logs and diagnostic data used to improve stability.
• Google AdMob: for displaying ads.
• Google User Messaging Platform: for requesting and managing ad privacy consent where required.

These providers may process device identifiers, technical data, usage information, ad information and diagnostic data according to their own policies. Google's Privacy Policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

8. Retention

Results and preferences saved by Kenopsia are stored locally on your device while the app remains installed or until you clear app data from Android. Data processed by Firebase, Crashlytics or AdMob is retained according to those services' policies and settings.

9. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with service providers integrated in the app, such as Google/Firebase/AdMob, for analytics, stability, consent and advertising. You may also voluntarily share PDF reports or other information through external apps.

10. Security

Kenopsia limits sensitive analysis to the device where possible and requests permissions only for security-related features. However, no app or system can be guaranteed to be fully secure. We recommend keeping Android and your apps up to date.

11. Children

Kenopsia is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

12. Your rights and choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction or portability. You can also:

• Revoke permissions from Android settings.
• Disable scan modules or alerts from Kenopsia Settings.
• Change or remove access to the selected folder.
• Manage ad privacy options when shown in the app.
• Delete local data by uninstalling the app or clearing its data from Android.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements or services used. We will publish the updated version with a new effective date.
